Camp for young athletes

3rd leg of National Youth developmental triathlon camp was held in Cagayan de Oro.  There were 25 youngster ages 9yrs to 15yrs participated the week long camp. The event was part of the national grass-root program leading to qualify 2014 Youth Olympics, China.

Both kids and parents were excited and motivated. Most of the young athletes comes from swimming clubs and very competitive, though the tri-camp was something new to them, their motivation made them endure throughout the camp.

Triathlon in this region is fast-growing.  If I recall it right, there were already three or four organized age-group triathlon club.
The local host, Misamis oriental triathlon group, had managed to organized an aquathlon race culminating the camp – excellent entry event to start your triathlon.

I’m looking forward to hold another camp before the year ends.
